Thanksgiving Bagel Stuffing Recipe
Stuffing is a requirement for most people at Thanksgiving. Rather than rely on a package of store-bought stuffing, you can make your own with some day-old bagels and a handful of other ingredients. Your guests will be sure to love it.
Ingredients:
¼ cup butter or margarine
1 large onion, thinly sliced
5 stalks scallions, sliced
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons chives
3 cloves minced garlic
1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons capers (optional)
4 large day-old bagels, cut into 1-inch cubes
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a casserole dish.
Set a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter or margarine. Add the onion and scallions and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until soft. Add the chives and garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
Whisk the broth and eggs in a large bowl. Add the capers (optional), bagel pieces, and the onion/scallion/butter mixture. Fold to combine and pour into the casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the stuffing is browned to your liking.
