Steak and Cheese Bagel Sandwich Recipe

4 onion bagels
2 pounds shaved steak
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
8 slices American cheese (or another cheese of your choice)
Toast the bagels. You can also wrap them in aluminum foil for 5 minutes to slightly soften the crust.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. To sear the steak, you should not crowd the pan. Add half of the steak and half of the seasonings to the pan and cook until the steak is no longer pink.
Divide the steak into two piles, put two slices of cheese on each pile, and loosely cover with a lid or foil. Don’t touch the cheese. Remove the skillet from the stove and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.
Transfer the steak and cheese to two bagels to make sandwiches. Loosely cover the sandwiches with foil to keep them warm. Repeat with the rest of the steak and cheese to make two more sandwiches.
