National Bagel Eating Contest to Be Held February 7
The National Bagel Association has announced that it will host the first annual “National Bagel Eating Contest” on Sunday, February 7, 2016, two days before National Bagel Day, at the Bagel Expo. Contestants will have five minutes to eat as many bagels as they can. The contest will naturally be held in New York, specifically in Huntington, Long Island.
Contestants must pay a $25 fee to enter the contest. The winner will be awarded a $500 cash prize. Andrew Hazen, founder and CEO of the National Bagel Association, said holding the contest was a no-brainer given how much people love bagels and how successful other competitive eating contests have been.
People interested in competing in the National Bagel Eating Contest can get information and register at www.BagelEatingContest.com. Competitors must be 18 years or older.
General admission tickets to the Bagel Expo are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12. Attendees will be able to sample various types of bagels, view bagel-themed art, and play bagel-related games at the event.
The National Bagel Association is the only trade organization dedicated to bagels, bagel bakers, and bagel store owners and operators. It was founded in 2012 and has its headquarters in Long Island, New York.
