Hammy Egg Maple Bagel Recipe

1 tablespoon butter, divided
1 plain bagel
4 slices ham
2 slices American cheese
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Heat 1 ½ teaspoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Slice the bagel and place the halves in the skillet cut sides down. Cook 1 to 2 minutes per side, until the bagel is softened and very lightly toasted. Transfer the bagel slices to a plate.
Cook the ham slices for 1 to 2 minutes, until heated through. Put 2 slices on each bagel slice.
Heat another 1 ½ teaspoons of butter in the skillet. Cook the eggs in the skillet for about 3 minutes, until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny. Flip the eggs and cook 1 minute more. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the eggs and cheese on one bagel half. Top with the other bagel half.
Place the bagel sandwich in the skillet and cover with a lid. Heat 45 seconds per side, until the cheese is melted.
Put the sandwich on a plate and drizzle with maple syrup.
