1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon Montreal seasoning
12 strips of bacon
¼ cup barbecue sauce
½ large onion, thinly sliced
4 slices gouda or another cheese of your choice
Cook the bacon in a medium skillet until it is brown and crispy. Place it on a plate lined with paper towels and set aside.
Drain the grease and use the same skillet, or heat a grill over medium-high heat. Add the Montreal seasoning to the ground beef and make four patties. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side. Add the cheese during the last 1 to 2 minutes to melt.
Slice the bagels in half and toast them. Spread with mayonnaise if desired. Place the hamburger patties on the buns and top with onion, barbecue sauce, and bacon.
